Robotik goes school

Reason to celebrate at IGS Augustfehn

The AMF-Bruns Stiftung has supported the secondary school with two laptops, 3D printer and a comprehensive range of accessories for the 3D printer and 10 desktop robots. This allows the pupils to experience innovative technologies at first hand and use them in their lessons. The donations in kind were presented in summer 2023.

Thanks to the donation, the school was able to expand the existing technology lab with additional technical equipment. Around 40 students between Years 9 and 10 are currently learning how to work with robots here – motivating lessons that are fun and optimally prepare them for a wide range of careers in industry.

For example, the young tech talents can now use learning modules to simulate the automated assembly of washing machines, cars and trucks. The students also learn how to design and manufacture small workpieces using the new 3D printers and the corresponding laptops. They can also produce tools for the robot themselves now.

Getting to know key technologies in a fun way
The AMF-Bruns Stiftung is actively committed to the education of children and young people. The goal is to help students from the region to develop their potential.

“With the donation to IGS Augustfehn, we are helping the school to further expand its offerings in the technology profile,” reports Jan Woltermann from the foundation’s board of directors. “Robotics is a key technology that can play an important role in professional life later. It is therefore beneficial for young people to come into contact with the basics and possibilities of this technology while they are still at school.”
