New 2,300 square metre photovoltaic system

AMF-Bruns harnesses the power of the sun

AMF-Bruns installed its own photovoltaic system at the company’s headquarters in Apen in 2017, and has since been generating around a third of its electricity needs there from the power of the sun. Another PV system has now been installed at the Romanian site in Roman. It has an output of 390 kWp, meaning that the plant can now cover around 40% of its annual energy consumption with solar power.

“The positive experience in Apen has already shown us that investing in photovoltaics is worthwhile – both for us as a company and for environmental and climate protection,” says managing director Jan Woltermann. “We are delighted that we can now cover a significant part of our electricity needs at our Romanian site with solar energy – a remarkable achievement and another important milestone for us.”

Around 100 employees at the Romanian plant manufacture products for AMF-Bruns’ two business units, Conveyor Systems and Hubmatik. The new photovoltaic system was installed in just 1.5 months and covers an area of 2,300 square metres.
