Congratulations!

Malte Wittje successfully completes his doctoral examination

We are proud to have accompanied our colleague Malte Wittje on his academic journey: on November 25, 2025, he successfully completed his doctoral examination. We were happy to support him on this path, which once again demonstrates how valuable mutual growth can be.

“Practice-oriented design methodology for screw heat exchangers under efficiency and sustainability aspects” is the title of his dissertation. In it, Malte Wittje develops a practical approach to designing screw heat exchangers that are even more efficient and resource-saving in the future—a topic of great relevance for modern industrial applications.

Research meets practice

Malte Wittje’s academic career is closely linked to AMF-Bruns: in 2014, he began his dual studies at the company, which he completed in 2018. This was immediately followed by his master’s degree, which he successfully completed in 2020. Initial discussions and agreements regarding a doctorate began immediately after he completed his master’s degree. He officially began his doctorate in 2022 at the University of Paderborn in cooperation with PHWT Diepholz, accompanied by lectures at the University of Paderborn in 2022 and 2023. After submitting his dissertation in June 2025, he has now successfully passed his examination.

Reaching the goal together

Special thanks go to the Bruns family, the management, and all colleagues at AMF-Bruns who encouraged, promoted, and supported Malte Wittje throughout the entire process.

Malte Wittje would also like to express his special thanks to Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lauter from PHWT Diepholz and Prof. Dr. Tröster and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Schöppner from the University of Paderborn. Their expert guidance, constructive criticism, and continuous support contributed significantly to the success of the doctorate. He would also like to thank the examination board, whose commitment and expertise made the final examination possible.

As soon as the remaining formalities have been completed, Malte Wittje will be entitled to use the academic title Dr.-Ing. It will be exciting to see what new paths, projects, or challenges this will open up for him.
