Retrofit in the sugar industry: trough screw conveyor comprehensively overhauled
From old to high-performance: refurbishment of a trough screw conveyor for reuse
Another exciting project for one of our customers:
In this case, we were able to comprehensively modernize an existing system and technically refurbish it for renewed operation.
This trough screw conveyor is also part of the overall project and perfectly complements the previously presented systems.
As the sister system to the previously showcased separating conveyors, it fulfills an important role within the overall process: While the new system is designed for transporting beet fragments, this trough screw conveyor ensures the reliable removal of leafy residues.
In the sugar industry, “kraut” refers to the accompanying materials of sugar beets — including leaves, stems, and additional field residues.
As part of the refurbishment, not only were new inlets and outlets installed, but the screw shaft and other key components were also modernized.
New support brackets including bearings, shaft seals, and modern drive motors complete the rebuild.
The result is a powerful and reliable conveyor system rebuilt from an existing installation — forming an important part of a well-designed overall plant concept.
