AMF-Bruns Foundation Supports Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicle Conversion:
New Club Bus of CVJM Apen Now Accessible for Barrier-Free Travel
Youth camps, canoe trips, music projects, or journeys to events: for many years, the club bus of CVJM Apen was an important companion for numerous children and young people from the Ammerland region in Lower Saxony. The shock was all the greater when the vehicle was completely destroyed in a fire.
Although the association was eventually able to purchase a new van, it quickly became clear that more than just a replacement vehicle was needed to ensure that all young people could take part in the wide range of activities on offer. For children and young people with mobility impairments, this is only possible with a wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversion.
This was made possible through financial support from the AMF-Bruns Foundation, which covered all costs for the conversion and the necessary components. As a result, even more young people will now be able to participate in camps, excursions, and events in their region – regardless of physical limitations. Particularly wonderful is the fact that the club bus does not only benefit members of the CVJM. Whenever the vehicle is not in use, it is rented out to other clubs, the local municipality, and private individuals.
